If you’re like me, you might be starting to feel a little bit of the winter blahs. Running outside is tricky when sidewalks and running paths are icy and it stinks to have to put on multiple layers just to head to the gym. I can’t afford to travel to the tropics right now, but I can include some tropical indulgences in my daily life. I decided to combine some tropical fruits into this healthy smoothie and wanted to share my tropical smoothie recipe with my readers.
I made my tropical smoothie with mango because mangoes have a lot of health benefits. Mangoes are high in fiber and essential vitamins and may even help reduce body fat. They’re easy to find in the freezer section, making them perfect for smoothies. Add in banana which has lots of potassium, magnesium, and antioxidants, and you’ve got a tasty, nutrient-packed smoothie!

Here’s the tropical smoothie recipe:
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1/2 c frozen mango chunks
- 1 scoop protein powder
- 1 c pineapple juice
- Mix ingredients together in blender and drink.
- I used tropical flavor protein powder but other fruit flavors would work well.
- Substitute orange juice if you don't have pineapple juice.
