—16 mile long run (10:54 average pace)
—10 minutes of yoga so far, need to do a little more before bed
I slept in this morning, which felt absolutely amazing. After wasting some time, I decided to get my butt downstairs to my treadmill to get my long run on. I was pretty happy with how the run went. My right calf still has some knots in it and despite a long warm up it still tightened up on me a few times and I had to stop and stretch. I think my IT band is a little tight, too, which may have caused some twinges. But, my hip flexor held up pretty well and I was able to complete 16 miles in just under an 11:00/mile pace, which is not bad for me at my current fitness level. My long run paces keep getting quicker with a similar effort level, which keeps me hopeful that my speed will come back relatively quickly.
I had dinner with Scott’s family, took a short nap, and then Scott and I headed out to a local fro yo place for my post-long run treat. I’ve read several blog posts about fro yo lately, which has been making me crave it and I’ve been planning my fro yo trip for days.

I wound up getting cake batter and red velvet cake yogurt with some mochi, gummy bears, maraschino cherries, and a couple other goodies that I don’t remember off the top of my head.
All in all, I think I had a pretty good day.
