Sorry I’m a little late to the party (side note: how is it February 3rd already?), but I wanted to share my goals for February. I have a big goal:
My yoga studio is hosting a 28 day challenge, where you are challenged to come to 28 classes in 28 days. If you miss a day, no big deal, you just have to double up on another day. I really need to get my butt in the studio, and I think this is a great way for me to motivate myself to go. My anxiety levels have been pretty high lately, so I’m hoping adding in more yoga will help with that.
But, I also have a goal for my running:
Returning to running after a long layoff is really tough, especially if you’ve run really long distances like the marathon, because it’s easy to want to go long in a short amount of time. I want to do this the smart way and not stress my body too much, so I’m going to slowly work up to a long run of six miles by the end of the month. I have a hard time trying not to think things like, “gee, that used to be my minimum mileage for a daily run when I was training for my marathon,” but I’m trying not to compare who I was then to who I am now. It’s just so darn hard.
