I try to stay away from New Year’s Resolutions–it seems like it’s so easy to break them. But there are a few things that I want to accomplish in 2015.
1. Focus on Happiness
I wrote earlier this week about how I’m actively trying to cultivate happiness in my life and trying to let go of stressful thoughts and situations. The one thing I want to really make sure I focus on this year is minimizing stress and using mindfulness to not ruminate on negative thoughts. I want to make sure I find balance in my life between taking care of myself and my other obligations.
2. Run for Fun
I think I’m going to stay away from training for longer distance races this year, especially marathons. I want to focus on enjoying every run that I go on and not worrying about hitting a particular pace or running more miles than I feel like running that day. I want to feel like running is something I get to do, not have to do.

3. One Instagram yoga pose a day.
My schedule has been really crazy the past month and a half, which I’m sure is true for a lot of us with holidays and shopping and family obligations. Because of this, my yoga practice has suffered a bit lately. I want to make sure I keep practicing yoga because it really helps me find center in my life. I’m hoping posting to social media regularly will encourage me to make time for a daily yoga practice.
Happy 2015 everyone! I hope it’s your best year yet!
