I’ve been talking to people so much aboug how awesome compression socks are lately that even though it’s not really the season to be talking about tights, I thought I’d write a post anyway.
I really love running in my compression tights. The compression keeps my legs feeling fresh even after running for long distances. I trained through the winter for my first marathon and I was happy that for most of my really long runs it was cold enough for me to wear my tights, which I think really helped with my recovery. (That, and switching to a carb/protein gel instead of a carb only gel.) I wore the for my marathon and felt good and not too achy in the days after I finished. Plus, they really hold you in, so it’s like wearing tights with built-in Spanx.

I went with the CW-X Stabilyx tights because I liked the extra support around the knee. (I was recovering from my first and worst bout of runner’s knee.) I also got a great deal on them on Amazon. They’ve been wonderfully supportive and in the time that I’ve had them (about a year and a half), I’ve been extremely happy with them. Because they are so tight, I generally have to sit down and really scrunch them up like panty hose to get them on. It takes longer than tights without compression, but I think it’s worth it.

So, if you’re thinking of getting compression tights, I would definitely recommend checking out CW-X. Everyone I know who has a pair loves them.
