I dearly love this blog, but I’ve been struggling to think of things to write about lately. I’ll literally open a new post in WordPress and just stare at the blank post with the blinking cursor for minutes on end, unable to come up with an idea. I’m sure I’m not the only blogger who’s been in this spot, so I thought today I’d do a roundup of blog posts that offer some suggestions for topics and how to combat writer’s block. Hope my fellow bloggers find this helpful!
How to Move Past a Creative Block – This post from the Nectar Collective has some great suggestions for solutions to try to get past your creative block, writing or otherwise. They bring up a great point about figuring out exactly why you’re feeling stuck and picking that apart. Knowing why you’re struggling to come up with content you feel is “good enough” to put on your blog might be exactly what you need to get you through your blogger’s block.

100+ Blog Post Title Templates that Grab Attention – Sometimes just a great title can spur an entire blog post. If you’re getting stuck on thinking about big chunks of content, sometimes focusing on a smaller project like writing a few killer headlines can get your creative juices flowing.
10 Blog Post Ideas When You Are Stuck – There’s a helpful infographic nestled at the end of this article about re-purposing content that offers some good ideas for types of posts you could work on if you’re totally stuck on what topic to write about.
4 Ways to Continually Come Up With New Blog Content – I absolutely love Alisha Nicole’s content and this post does not disappoint. I’ll definitely be applying these tips as I work to come up with my content calendar for the rest of this month and next month. One idea she shares that I wouldn’t have thought of: looking for a new link-up to participate in.
20 Quality Content Blog Post Ideas – Loved these blog post ideas, and how almost all of them could be applied to any niche you might blog about. Some of my favorites: a behind-the-scenes post sharing how you do what you do and creating an archive post that links to content you’ve written on a particular topic so it’s easily accessible from a single page.
Writing Prompts – The SITS Girls have a HUGE library of writing prompts on their website. If you’re having trouble coming up with an idea to write about, sift through these for a few minutes and you should be able to find a prompt that gets your creative juices flowing.
For those of you struggling to decide what to blog about, I hope you find these resources helpful! Feel free to add any in the comments if you know of good resources I missed! And, know that creativity sometimes ebbs and flows. It’s totally normal to have a period of time where it’s hard to come up with good content. Don’t be too hard on yourself!
